رباعی شمارهٔ 135سکندر رفت و شمشیر و علم رفت
Iskander and his flag and sword are gone; gone are his tribute and his mines and seas.
رباعی شمارهٔ 136ربودی دل ز چاک سینهٔ من
My breast was torn, and thou hast seized my heart, Yea, with my dearest prize thou didst depart;

The world of colour and of fragrancy; earth, sky, dimension, all are gone from me:

The soul of Persia kindles at my song, the caravan moves on, my call is strong;

I am a wanderer like the breeze of morn, rose-like my heart is into fragments torn.
رباعی شمارهٔ 144خرد کرپاس را زرینه سازد
Cotton to cloth of gold the mind can bring. Stones turn to mirrors, by its polishing:
رباعی شمارهٔ 145ز شاخ آرزو بر خورده ام من
I have consumed the fruit of Passion’s tree. And understood Life’s inmost mystery;
رباعی شمارهٔ 146خیالم کو گل از فردوس چیند
My thought plucks flowers that in Eden grew to shape and fashion fancies rare and new.

Persia’s a sea that never comes to shore, wherein are pearls of diamantine hue;
رباعی شمارهٔ 148مگو کار جهان نااستوار است
Do not say life is merely transitory: Each moment of ours veils Eternity.

Thou hast escaped the mastery of the West and yet to tomb and dome thou still dost pray:

How long will you remain depressed like this? How long have, your nest in the dust like ants?

Nest amid roses and anemones, learn from the thrush his plangent melodies.
رباعی شمارهٔ 152بجان من که جان نقش تن انگیخت
The soul designed the body, love of self-display thus fashioning a double-tinted rose.
رباعی شمارهٔ 153به گوشم آمد از خاک مزاری
I heard a voice from inside a grave say: You can commence a new life in the grave.

Do not despair of your handful of dust, this mutable stuff, quickly blown away.
رباعی شمارهٔ 155جهان رنگ و بو فهمیدنی هست
It must be known, this world of scent and sheen; they must be plucked, the roses in the dene;
رباعی شمارهٔ 156تو می گوئی که من هستم خدا نیست
‘I am, and God is not’, thou sayest so: ‘Water and clay into the boundless go’;
رباعی شمارهٔ 159بحرف اندر نگیری لامکانرا
Words are too frail, abodelessness to bear. Look inwardly, and see this point is clear:
رباعی شمارهٔ 160بهر دل عشق رنگ تازه بر کرد
Love plays with every heart a different role; now as a stone, and now a crystal bowl:
رباعی شمارهٔ 161هنوز از بند آب و گل نرستی
You are still tied to colour and to race, so you call me Afghan or Turkoman.
رباعی شمارهٔ 162مرا ذوق سخن خون در جگر کرد
The love of speech first filled my heart with blood and set aflame the dust upon the road;
