ساقی من خیزد بی‌گفت من

ساقی من خیزد بی‌گفت من
آرد آن باده وافر ثمن

My saki rises without my speaking and brings that wine of abundant price.

حاجت نبود که بگویم بیار
بشنود آواز دلم بی‌دهن

There is no need for me to say, “Bring,” he hears the voice of my heart without mouth.

هست تقاضاگر او لطف او
و آن کرم بی‌حد و خلق حسن

His intercessor is his own grace, his boundless generosity and goodness.

ماه برآید تو مگویش برآ
بر تو زند نور مگویش بزن

The moon rises, do not say to it, “Arise”; it casts light on you, do not say, “Cast.”

ای به گه بزم بهین عیش و نوش
وی به گه رزم مهین صف شکن

O you in time of festivity, the best joy and pleasure and in time of battle, the greatest breaker of ranks.

از پی هر گمره نیکو دلیل
وز پی محبوس چه‌ای خوش رسن

Excellent guide for all who have lost the way, fine rope for all imprisoned in the well;

عالم همچون شب و تو همچو ماه
تو مثل شمعی و جان‌ها لگن

The world is like night, and you the moon; you are like a candle, the souls a sconce.

جان مثل ذره بود بی‌قرار
با تو شود ساکن نعم السکن

The soul is restless like a mote; with you it becomes tranquil, O excellent tranquillity.
