Leave aside the tale of the moth fallen under the lamp —

The story of its burning is painful to hear.

من آن پروانه را پروانه دانم

که جانش سخت کوش و شعله نوش است

I consider that moth truly a moth,

Whose soul strives hard and drinks the flame.
