Terms of Service

The agreement governing access to ZindeRood’s website, community accounts, cultural materials, and related services.

ZindeRood exists to make Persian literary heritage easier to read, hear, and understand. These terms protect that public mission, our users, our sources, and the people whose work appears here.

1. Accepting these terms

By accessing or using ZindeRood, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or continue using account features. You must be legally capable of accepting these terms; where local law requires parental or guardian permission, that permission must be obtained.

2. The service

ZindeRood publishes and organizes Persian poetry, translations, recitations, reference material, and related learning resources. Public materials can generally be browsed without an account. Account features may include profile settings, sign-in options, and session management.

Features, languages, collections, and availability may change as the project develops. Unless we expressly say otherwise, no paid service, guaranteed storage, editorial submission service, or permanent preservation commitment is created by these terms.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for activity through your account to the extent permitted by applicable law. Google sign-in is optional and is also governed by Google’s terms. We may require re-verification or recovery steps when needed to protect an account.

  • Provide an email address you control and keep account information reasonably accurate.
  • Protect your password, email account, Google account, and signed-in devices; do not share access credentials.
  • Review active sessions and promptly revoke anything you do not recognize.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account or the service has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

Reasonable indexing by ordinary search engines and good-faith scholarly citation are not prohibited by this section. Separate licences or API terms may apply where expressly provided.

  • Do not attempt unauthorized access, probe or bypass security, evade rate limits, interfere with infrastructure, introduce malware, or run abusive automated traffic.
  • Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent affiliation, harass others, facilitate unlawful activity, or use the service to violate another person’s privacy or rights.
  • Do not scrape, reproduce, or redistribute materials in a manner that ignores technical restrictions, source attribution, copyright notices, licences, or database rights.
  • Do not use the service in a way that unreasonably burdens it or prevents others from accessing it.

5. Content, attribution, and intellectual property

ZindeRood’s software, design, branding, editorial structure, original translations, recordings, annotations, and other original work may be protected by intellectual-property law. You may not imply endorsement, remove notices, or use ZindeRood’s name or branding in a misleading way.

Poems, source editions, translations, recordings, images, and reference materials may have different authors, owners, public-domain status, and licences. The notice, attribution, source statement, or licence shown with a specific item controls your reuse of that item. The presence of material on ZindeRood does not by itself place it in the public domain or grant an unrestricted licence.

We work to credit sources and rightsholders accurately. If you believe material infringes your rights or contains an incorrect attribution, contact us with enough detail to identify and assess it.

6. Third-party services and links

ZindeRood may link to or interoperate with services operated by others, including Google sign-in, source libraries, media platforms, and social networks. We do not control their availability, content, security, or privacy practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.

7. Suspension and termination

We may limit, suspend, or terminate account access when reasonably necessary to protect users, rights, content, infrastructure, or legal obligations; investigate suspected misuse; or address a material breach of these terms. Where practical and safe, we will provide an explanation or a path to contact us.

You may stop using ZindeRood at any time, sign out individual or all sessions, or delete your account from account settings. Deletion deactivates the account immediately; a successful sign-in within 30 days restores it, after which self-service restoration ends. Suspension or deletion does not create a right to alter historical public materials, source attributions, or records we must retain for lawful security purposes.

8. Accuracy, availability, and changes

We care deeply about accuracy, but literary texts, translations, metadata, pronunciation, attributions, and external sources can contain errors or scholarly disagreements. ZindeRood is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that every feature or item will always be complete, current, error-free, or uninterrupted.

We may correct, reorganize, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue content or features. The service is an educational and cultural resource, not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

9. Disclaimers and responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ZindeRood and those who support the project disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the service or third-party content.

Nothing in these terms limits a right or responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. If a jurisdiction does not permit a limitation stated here, that limitation applies only to the maximum extent permitted there.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service, risk, or law. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate notice when reasonably possible. Continued use after updated terms take effect means the updated terms govern future use.

Questions, rights notices, and account requests can be sent through the public Contact page.
