Yaas Yagana Changezi

Yagana Changezi’s original name was Mirza Wajid Hussain. Born in Patna, he later settled in Lucknow. His independent attitude towards literary tradition often took him on a different path from his contemporaries.

Self-examination, fearlessness and direct expression are prominent in his ghazals. This distinctive voice within a classical form holds an important place in the development of the modern ghazal.
