Poet
Mustafa Khan Shefta
1809 — 1869CE
Nawab Mustafa Khan Shefta was a poet of Delhi and a patron of literary gatherings. He wrote verse in both Urdu and Persian, receiving poetic guidance from Momin in Urdu and Ghalib in Persian.
The balanced voice of his ghazals is an important part of his literary legacy. His biographical account of poets, Gulshan-e Bekhar, is also an important source for understanding the literary life of nineteenth-century Delhi.
